Kerry Benson has had more than 25 years' experience at one of Sydney’s leading tertiary children’s hospitals.

As a senior sonographer, Kerry is highly skilled in all areas of paediatric sonography with extensive experience in a broad range of paediatric sonography examinations from neonates to adolescents.

In the hospital setting, Kerry has worked closely with consulting physicians and surgeons in the fields of Gastroenterology, Urology, Dermatology, Orthopaedics and in the Intensive Care Units both neonatal and general. Across these specialities Kerry has assisted in developing examination protocols and maintaining high standards.

Areas of Interest

Kerry has a very keen interest in the Liver Transplant program and has played an integral part in developing pre and post operative protocols with both the Liver and Renal Transplant teams and with the patient’s long term care.

Kerry also has a particular interest in examination of acute abdominal pain in neonates and children. She has many years experience performing emergency examinations of all types as part of the hospital emergency team.

Teaching and mentoring students both formally and informally has also been part of Kerry’s professional life and over time has assisted in running many paediatric seminars and workshops.

In summary, Kerry is passionate about producing high quality diagnostic ultrasound images. She shares the vision of ImageKids in providing the best standards of paediatric ultrasound imaging in the community.

Kerry is currently accredited with ASAR and is registered with AHPRA.
