Paediatric and Interventional Radiologist

Dr. Murthy is a specialist paediatric radiologist with vast experience as a senior staff radiologist at one of the largest children’s hospital networks in the country, the Sydney Children’s Hospital Network.

He was born and raised in India and received his medical degree from Osmania Medical College, Hyderabad, India. He underwent radiology training at Osmania General Hospital, Hyderabad, India and at Christian Medical College Hospital, Vellore before moving to Australia.

Dr. Murthy obtained further radiology training in Australia, and completing a fellowship in paediatric medical imaging at the Children’s Hospital at Westmead. He also completed a vascular and interventional radiology fellowship from University of Toronto, Canada. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (FRANZCR).

He is passionate about providing access to high quality imaging and interpretation to children so that he can assist their parents, carers and healthcare professionals in the best possible way to create appropriate healthcare management decisions.

He strongly believes in making specialist paediatric imaging easily available in the community.

In addition to specialist paediatric imaging interpretation, Dr. Murthy also has extensive experience in performing minimally invasive image guided procedures. He is one of the very few radiologists in the country with the skills and expertise in performing these procedures in both children and adults.
